OUTREACH AND SERVICE

HOW TO BECOME AN ACTIVE MEMBER:

  • Attend at least 60% of meetings per semester

  • Obtain at least 10 outreach hours per semester

    • *Members unable to attend general body meetings must notify an Executive Board member of your situation. Additional outreach events may be completed to compensate for the attendance requirement. Note. This option is not open to the general body, but only to those individuals with class scheduling conflicts and/or extenuating circumstances. In cases of class conflicts, members must satisfy a total of 16 outreach hours in order to have an active status. Members with inactive status are ineligible to apply for Executive Board member positions.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR AN OUTREACH EVENT:

Links to the sign up forms will be sent along with the Newsletter every Sunday. A reminder will be sent a week before the event, confirming whether you can still make it to the event or not.

GUIDELINES:

For events with limited positions, priority is given to the first requests. If after signing up for a restricted event a member does not show, he/she will be given a warning. Re-occurance of such behavior will lead to loss of priority and eventually deduction of outreach points.

When members are acquiring outreach on their own as a Pre-Med Society Representative, they are expected to behave in a respectable fashion. If members return from events with negative responses from the event host the above stated penalty process will take place. If conduct is deemed to have been inexcusible the member will no longer be in good standing.
